Steven Joseph Ware, 53, of Danville, died peacefully at home on January 27 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born January 20, 1964, in Danville to Morris Eugene and Donna Lou (Stanford) Ware; his parents both preceded him in death. Steve was a graduate of Danville High School. Steve started his own business in 1988 and took great pride in the quality homes that he built. He spent nearly a decade volunteering his time as a little league football and baseball coach. Recently, Steve took up the hobby of super stock dirt track racing, building his own cars with the help of his friends. He ran races at Lincoln Park and Paragon Speedways finishing several seasons in the top five.
A loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, the biggest joy in his life was spending time with his grandchildren. Steve is survived by his wife Kandi; daughter, Tanna (Ware) Tuttle; son, Adrian Ware (Rose Marie Ware); granddaughter, Arwyn Tuttle; grandson, Jackson Ware; sons of the heart, Marshall Garland and Zane Coakley; brother, Donald Ware; sister, Kimberly (Ware) Fiscus (John Fiscus); and many nieces and nephews.
