Lura L. Maxwell, 94, of Danville, died May 15, 2017 at Manor Care in Avon. Lura was a Birth Right Quaker born in Ohio on July 14, 1922, to Alva J. And Amy R. (Pickett) Hampton. She graduated from Friends Boarding School in Barnesville, OH in 1943. she later graduated from Central Normal College in Danville. Lura married Albert Wilson Maxwell March 26, 1948, and he preceded her in death Aug. 7, 2010. She had been an accounted with Jim Davis, CPA, now Donovan, CPA, for almost 30 years, retiring in 1986. Lura was a member of Danville Friends Church, and the Hendricks Co. Homemakers. Services will be held at 1 p.m. May 19th at the Danville Friends Church with visitation there at 11 a.m. until time of service. Burial will take place in Sugar Grove Cemetery, Plainfield. Survivors include her sons, David A. Maxwell of Salem, OR and Bruce A. Maxwell of Danville; two grandchildren and a brother, Lloyd "Bud" Hampton of Aniston, AL.
