James (Red) Bledsoe, 75, of Avon, passed away January 14,2017.
Red graduated from Avon High School and worked at Link Belt for 25 years where he also made an impact as chairman of the grievance committee.
He and his wife, Bonnie Bledsoe, were married for 55 years and together they worked side-by-side as owners of several businesses in the area including B&S Boarding Kennels, Great Skates roller skating rink and Haunted Bridge Antique Mall.
Red has always had a love of cars. In his earlier days he started by racing go karts which turned into an exciting 12 years of sprint car racing! Red and Bonnie hosted 13 years of car shows to raise funds for the new Animal Shelter in Hendricks county.This brought on an interest in the World of Wheels where he served as co-chairman for 6 years. The couple have enjoyed years of participating in car shows and the many friends they have made!
Red leaves his cherished loving memories with daughter, Shonni Jo McDaniels, and 1 "adopted" son, Brian Whitis. He is also loved by 7 grandchildren including Amber, Chad, Aaron, Lindsay, Randi Shay, Sean and David. He also has 7 precious great-grandchildren.
There will be a visitation time held at Conkle Funeral home in Avon, Indiana from 1 to 5 p.m. January 21 with a small service following.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hendricks County Friends of the Animal Shelter, 1380 N County Rd 800 E, Avon.
