Franklin's Story

Franklin C. Stokes III 58, of Danville, passed away in Owen County on January 26. He was born on June 6, 1958 to the late Franklin Clyde Stokes, Jr. and Mae (Greene) Stokes.
Franklin was a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and served in the profession his entire working career. He owned Hendricks County Animal Hospital. Working, fishing, riding horses, poetry, snow skiing, dancing, and spending time with his family and friends are among the things he enjoyed. He attended Kingsway Christian Church and was a Veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by his children: Frank (Danielle) Stokes of Danville, Justin (Heather) Stokes of Danville, Cody (Stefanie) Stokes of Gainesville, GA, Alexandria Stokes of Danville; six grandchildren; siblings, Kandi Mitchell of North Salem; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Thomas Stokes.
Funeral Services will be at 2 PM, Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Servies and Morgan Funeral Home 203 North Washington Street, Ladoga, with Pastor Randy Stokes officiating. Burial will follow in Ladoga Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM prior to calling.
