Text size

Anna Catherine ("Jane") Hession, 90, of Brownsburg, died peacefully in her home on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was born on February 17, 1927 and was the sixth born child of Russell and Delia Wiley. A city girl turned farm wife, she married Daniel "Bernard" Hession in June, 1953. She and her husband were devout Catholics and life-long members of St. Malachy Parish where they raised and educated their eight children in the Catholic faith. Anna is survived by her husband, Bernard Hession and her eight children: Michael (Kathy) Bray, Bernadette (Jesse) Davidson, Kathleen (Harry) Broderick, Anthony (Tammy) Hession, Timothy (Molly) Hession, Matthew (Debbie) Hession, Andrew (Traci) Hession, and Marijane (Robert) Armbruster. Known by her grandchildren as "Memom", she is survived by 20 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her brothers Russell Wiley Jr., James Wiley and her sisters, Rose Mary (Wiley) Smith, Bettie (Wiley) Frohreich, and Marita (Wiley) Landis. Anna is also survived by her sisters Helen (Wiley) Disney, Regina (Wiley) Watson and brother John Wiley as well as many nieces and nephews. Anna's first job was at L.S. Ayres in downtown Indianapolis in the payroll department. She loved her time working there, but later spent many hours shopping there as in her opinion, there was no place better. Anna was also a long-time member of the Hendricks County Homemakers Club where she shared her passion for baking, cooking, and house making. She was also an avid Euchre player and would most often be the high scorer in her Thursday afternoon club. Visitation will be from 9:30 am - 11:00 am on Saturday, June 10th at St. Malachy Catholic Church with the celebration of the funeral mass being held immediately following at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Malachy Catholic Church. Online guestbook at www.matthewsmortuary.com.
