Wilma's Story

Wilma (Malayer) Zimmerman, 87, passed away Nov 24th at home in Brownsburg.
Born on March 15, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Burley and Veda Malayer of Roachdale.
She married George "Pete" Zimmerman on Nov. 5, 1960. He preceded her in death.
She attended New Maysville School, Bainbridge HS and Porter College. In addition to farming with Pete, she worked at Cornelius Printing, with her brother veterinarian "Doc" Malayer, and for the State of Indiana for Governor Evan Bayh. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and supporting the Democratic party.
Survivors include daughters Linda (York) Smith (Richard) of Brookston and Cynthia (Zimmerman) Weller (Brian) of Brownsburg; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by brothers Jerry, John, James and Wilfred Malayer, and son Larry "Butch" York.
A Celebration of Life is being planned for the Spring. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Boy Scouts of America.
