William H. "Bill" Schapker, 83, passed away on December 15, 2016 at the Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis, IN. He was born on June 19, 1933 to John Henry and Dorothy (Kallschmidt) Schapker. Bill grew up in Cincinnati, OH. He graduated from Elder High School in Cincinnati in 1951. After graduating high school, Bill entered the United States Navy, where he was stationed in Soldona, Alaska and served as an electrician. He had the privilege of voting for Statehood in Alaska. Bill served in the Korean War, where he medaled. He was discharged from the Navy in 1956. In 1964 Bill brought a bit of Cincinnati to Indianapolis by opening Pasquale's Pizza on W. 16th Street in Speedway. He owned and operated it for 25 years, before retiring in 1989. Bill married Christine in 1967 in Indianapolis. They were married for 49 years. Bill was a long time member of the St. Malachy Parish and the Brownsburg American Legion Post 331. He was preceded in death by his parents John Henry and Dorothy, his siblings Carol, Ruth, Robert, Don, and his grandson Zachary. Bill is survived by his wife Christine; his sons Christopher (Robin), Mark (Becky), and William (Amanda); his daughter Therese; his grandchildren Mark John (Jessica), Claire, Natalie, and Victoria. Visitation will be from 2-5pm Sun. Dec. 18 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with funeral services Mon. Dec. 19 at St. Malachy Church.
