Lorraine (Houlton) Husselman, 94, of Avon, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2017, in Avon. She was born on June 28, 1923 in Riddick, Illinois, to Firm and Esther (Anderson) Houlton.
She worked in Library Services, for the IPS school corporation. Lorraine enjoyed playing the piano, and making Afghans for all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved reading books and studying about American and Russian History. Lorraine also enjoyed cooking and was a great cook.
Lorraine is survived by her two children, Kurt (Jenny) Husselman of Indianapolis, and Charlotte (Tony) Drykos of Avon; one sister, Ruby Brenyi of Ohio; five grandchildren, Crystal Stidham, Gina Dillon, Kyle Drykos, Sarah Stidam, and Amanda Husselman; seven great-grandchildren, Wyatt Stidam, Brandon Stidham, Conner Stidham, Macy Stidham, Berkeley Stidham, Ripken Dillon, and Koby Dillon; five step-grandchildren, Zachary Lawrence, Damon Dixon, Darren Dixon, Gavin Leming, and Emma Neal; and one step-great-grandchild, Chloe Dillon.
She was preceded in death by her two sons, Joel and Roger Husselman; her parents, Firm and Esther Houlton; and a brother, Maurice Houlton.
The family will be hosting a visitation from 5:00 p.m.-7:00p.m. on Friday, November 3, 2017 at Jessen Funeral Home, Whiteland Chapel, 729 N. U.S. Hwy. 31. A funeral will follow at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 4, 2017, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn cemetery, in Franklin.
