Kay (Smith) Warren, 79, a long-time Avon, IN resident passed away on January 27, 2018 in The Abbie Hunt Bryce Home, surrounded by her immediate family.
Kay was born November 2, 1938 in Moline, Illinois, the youngest child of Stephen LeRoy Smith and Martha Taets. She graduated from Rock Island (IL) High School and attended Southern Illinois University. She married Jerry Warren on February 28, 1964 in Olney, IL.
At a young age, she was athletic and musically inclined. She was an accomplished ice skater, talented dancer, and pianist. She is known for her sense of humor, appreciation of music, and love of children (especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren) as well as others she cared for during her later years.
Kay leaves behind her husband, Jerry Warren, 78, of Avon, IN; two daughters Sheri Warren Sankner, 58, of New York City, and Kristi Bieniek, 52, of Monroe City, MO; two granddaughters, Kristin Schubert of Plainfield, IN and Chelsea Luttrell of Avon, IN; and two great grandchildren Cameron and Hannah Schubert.
