Joshua's Story

Joshua Matthew Creel, 23, of Liberty, Indiana, passed away on June 13, 2017, in Missoula, Montana, due to a car accident. Joshua was born on May 29, 1994, and is the middle son of John and Teresa Creel. Beloved brother to John Michael Creel, Megan Lynn Garcia, Morgan Marie Creel, James Matthew Creel, and James Samuel Huffman. Josh graduated from Avon High School in 2012. Soon after he joined The Millwright Local 1076. Josh was in the 4th year of his apprenticeship. He was a talented young man. He had an outstanding work ethic. He loved to work on Ball mills. He loved to swing a sledgehammer and get dirty. He travelled with his father and two brothers, John and Sammy, replacing liners and doing alignments on the drive line. In Joshua's opinion, the dirtier the job, the better. As a child, he equated being dirty to hard work because dad always came home dirty. When he was young he would roll around in the dirt then come show mom how hard he had worked. He was truly a daddy's boy. When he was a child he was never far from dad's side. He worked with him in the garage, would go out on side jobs with Dad, and later on joined him as a millwright.
In the spring of 2016, Josh got saved. He quickly took hold of the promises of God. He loved going to church and he loved the Saints. He especially enjoyed the Songs of Zion. One of his favorites was "We need each other Brethren". He had a burden for the Salvation of lost souls. He bought tracts and bibles to pass out. He would place the bibles into plastic bags with notes and verses to help the reader find Salvation.
The Lord saw fit to bless Josh with Debbie Jane Alteneder. He was worried about spending his life alone. He made it a matter of fervent prayer proving James 5:16 "The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much!" They died together.
Josh Did It Right. He did everything God's way. His final message to anyone out there, still living in sin, would be, come and be saved. Take your cross and you shall wear a starry crown. In the word of the Lord "Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord; though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool." Isaiah 1:18
