Jay Alan Swalley, 61, of Bowling Green, Indiana, passed away at home, June 4, 2017 following an extended illness.
Jay was born on February 4, 1956, in Belton, Texas the son of Roy K. and Erma (Schlegel) Swalley. Jay worked at Allison's Machine in Indianapolis. After moving back to Bowling Green, Jay owned and operated Quality Contracting and Fabrications building steel buildings and performing maintenance for Great Dane Trailers.
Jay was preceded in death by his mother Erma Swalley.
Survivors include his father Roy K. Swalley of Plainfield; his wife Heather Swalley of Bowling Green; 5 children: Ashley Albers and husband Nathan of Florida, Erin Vickery Swalley Toothman and husband Zach of Avon, Jayme Swalley of Florida, Danni Wallace (Austin Brown) of Carbon, Indiana and Bradly Wallace of Bowling Green; 2 grandchildren: Laila Belle Albers and Preston Julius Albers of Florida; siblings: Glenda Pate and husband Mike of Plainfield, Von Swalley and wife Debbie of Carmel, Kara Swalley of Plainfield and Ken Swalley of Plainfield as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family members and close friends.
No services are planned at this time. Cremation has been entrusted to Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, in Clay City. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to his family in his memory. Visit www.schoppenhorstfuneralhome.com to light a candle in his memory.
