George "Bruce" Ator, 64, of Danville, died Feb. 24. "Bruce" was born July 23, 1952, in Quincy, IL, to Russell and Elizabeth Anne (Bruce) Ator. He graduated from Quincy, IL high school, received a BS degree in physical education from Augustana College in Rock Island, IL, and a Masters degree in educational administration from Samford University. "Bruce" taught high school health and physical education, as well as coaching football and basketball at Sparta, IL High School 1977-1983, and also at Quincy Note Dame High School (1983-1987). He was a manager at the former Danville Ben Franklin Store 1987 to 1998. Currently, he has served as the operations manager for Gardner Glass Products in Indianapolis since 2003. Memorial services will be held at Northview Christian Church in Danville, of which he was a member at 6 p.m. Feb. 28, with visitation there from 2 p.m. until time of service. Survivors include his wife Lois (Kinman) Ator; sons Brandon Ator, Cryce (Kaite) Ator of Fishers, sister Heather Ator of Quincy, IL, and brother Alex (Allison Ator of Pearland, TX.
