Deborah Kay Batty, 69, of Plainfield, passed away on September 15 at IU West in Avon surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 26, 1947 in Terre Haute to Robert Royal Bensley and Anita Faye Mason Bensley. She attended Garfield High School, graduating in 1964. She was married to Lee Roy Eugene Batty on February 18, 1977. She loved bowling and carried a 185 average. She was a head cashier at Venture where she met her future husband, Lee. She went on to become a Kindergarten teacher at Brentwood Elementary and worked as a CSR at Lincoln Bank.
Surviving are her husband of 40 years, Lee Roy Eugene Batty; son Kent Robert (Kate) Dunkelbarger of Pekin, Il; daughter Shayne Leigh (Steve) Hoffman of Camby and seven grandchildren: Kelsi Nicole Dunkelbarger of Oakland, Ca; Caitlyn Leigh Hoffman and Hailey Lynn Hoffman of Camby; Kattie Maree of Edwardsville, Il; Madalyn Leane of Chicago, Il; Kolton Mitchell Dunkelbarger of Pekin, Il and Clarissa Long of Pekin, Il.
Deborah is preceded in death by her mother and father.
Celebration of Life will be held at their home on September 30, 2017 from 12 to 3pm at Peacock Lake - 5972 Oberlies Way Plainfield, In 46168.
