Dallas's Story

Dallas H. Asdell, 97, of Roachdale, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at Mill Pond Health Campus in Greencastle. He was born August 2, 1920 in Newberry, Indiana to Frank and Gertrude (McElroy) Asdell. Dallas served in the United States Army during World War II. He worked his life as a farmer and in his later years as a truck driver. He was a member of the VFW and Scotland Presbyterian Church.

Dallas is survived by his children, Willam Asdell and Jo Ella (Melvin) Burns, both of Roachdale, and a grandson, J.J. (Morgan) Burns.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, F. Maxine (Harris) Asdell, and four sisters, Vella Ruth, Martha (Asdell) Myers, Marye (Asdell) Myers, and Joyce (Asdell) Atkinson.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 A.M. , Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Scotland Cemetery in Scotland, Indiana. Pastor David Clayton will officiate. Military rites will be preformed by Bloomfield VFW and American Legion Posts.

Visitation will be from 10am until the time of the service at 11:00 A.M. at the cemetery.
