Carl Ray Wynkoop, 69, of Avon and formerly of Lebanon, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2017, at Seton Specialty Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on October 2, 1947, in Lebanon, Indiana, the son of the late Earl Wayne and Violet Marie (Johnson) Wynkoop.
He was first married to Linda (Portell) Wynkoop; she preceded him in death in 1985. He later married Linda Huff and they divorced.
Raised in Lebanon, Carl attended Lebanon High School. He served in the United States Marine Corp. until his honorable discharge. He was a member of the American Legion in Avon.
Carl worked as an insulator for Rock Island Refinery. He retired from there after many years of service.
He was a devoted father and grandfather.
Survivors include three Sons: Scott (Cathy) Wynkoop of Brownsburg, Chris Wynkoop of Indianapolis and Jeremy Wynkoop of Plainfield; five grandchildren: Madeleine, Jack, Blake, Benjamin and Jaxon; three sisters: Linda (Ed) Kincaid of Lebanon, Norma Jean Jerry) Hawk of Bolivar, Missouri and Carleene Kay (Joe) Jones of Indianapolis; and mother-in-law Pauline Portell of Zionsville.
Visitation is planned from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 1, 2017, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana.
Funeral Services are to be held on Monday, May 1, 2017, at 5:00 p.m., at the funeral home in Lebanon.
Private Family Interment with military rites will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
